O mojej bibliotece"Reread": books that I've read more than once

"unfinished": some books take me a long time to read but I do expect to finish them.

"Unread": some are in the pile beside my bed, and others are stashed away for my next holiday because I know I will read them. I've noticed a lot of the unread are classics that I've picked up from bargain bookshops with the idea that I must read these books, but don't get around to it.

"Unreadable": those which are just so poorly written that I have no interest in persevering.

"Wow": Books which made me stop and think, maybe even take notes, or find their way into my journal because of the thoughts that have bubbled up.

I love your "Wow" label. No reviews of your books that wowed you?
You could perhaps change your profile name to 'Scotsguyinspace' he he. Have there been any Scots or Scottish/Americans on the International Space Station yet?

'Beam me up Scotty'!
Hello, I saw Implied Spaces by Walter Jon Williams listed on Amazon. I haven't read it but noticed that one of the tags on the Amazon page refers to 'Scots in Space'. You might like LOL!
Hi, You seem to be the only other person to have "The Headhunters of Borneo"
I got it because my very close friend was fighting there in the 60s,he was always trying to tell me what it was like,he is dead now but I am still curious as to what it must have been like as he was totally traumatised by it.
I have been to Indonesia and Penang so know what the jungle is like but it must have been terrible fighting there.

Cheers.......Shirley
Saw you liked Trainspotting, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). Thought you might like it since it's also about a group of disturbed kids and a bit dark. I'd be glad to e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Great news for Scotland!
Hi Andrew,
I like your "Wow" tag – good idea! And very interested to see "Thud" there. I agree completely, although a lot of people seem to not think it a good book. (Maybe because it's too true? Too real? It was certainly very timely.) I shall have to pursue your other "wow"s ...
Joanna
Your library is interesting to me because you use the tag "Hebrides". I'm always looking for Hebridean books... and for a chance to get back to the islands.
Wow, that was quick!
Hi,
you have Mathew Parish as author of Scorn with extra bile, should be Mathew Parris.
Regards, Jim Roberts
Andrew,

I used to travel the M8 frequently (particularly on CityLink) to visit Glasgow. I had the opportunity to catch a few shows over there. Of course, my wife enjoyed the shopping...

Take care.
I see we both have Gordon Willis` Kilroy is Here - in fact it`s the only book we share so far. Are you a fan ?
Hiya, I came to your profile because you showed up on my list as the only other person with 'The World's Most Fantastic Freaks'. Your categories of unfinished, unread, unreadable etc. are spot on - I've also noticed that my unread books tend to be things like 'Jude The Obscure', 'Daniel Deronda', and things like that from charity shops. I finally got round to reading 'Moll Flanders' a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it so, if you have that one lying around, I recommend it!
Wow! To find that anyone has a copy of Kephart's Camp Cookery amazing. It's almost 100 years old. I've had it and dreamed over it and even used it (Not much) for over 60 years.
My old aunt Margaret got it for me, along with other Kephart books, when I was in the Boy Scouts before WWII.
I couldn't help noticing your large collection of bushcraft / wilderness / survival type books, and your location in South Wales. If you're not a member already, might I suggest having a look at www.bushcraftuk.com/community/ . They're a great bushcraft resource and there's quite a few members in the South Wales area.
