O mnieLive in Sydney. Have a passion, especially for children's picture books(hmmm...maybe I should have been a librarian!) Having children (just had number 3) gives me permission to indulge my passion!

O mojej biblioteceEcclectic and majorly culled at one stage because of moving. Heaps of children's books (see about me) , selected fav big people novels that I can't bear to part with and theological texts!

Thanks for the Ravelry intro !
I really want to subscribe, now, and will do it as soon as possible (probably in 2010, then :) )
Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that my sister did pass on the cardigans to her friend (who’s actually the sister of the people that got burnt out), & we know that your kindness was very much appreciated by the family.

I’m sorry if they haven’t got back to you personally, I know that they are busy with the baby & trying to find accommodation before winter kicks in & I just wanted to make sure that you know how appreciated your efforts are :)

Take Care
Seanie :)
I know what you mean! The time zones can get confusing. It's almost 9:00 pm here so it's not too late.

Again, thank you for your concern. Have a wonderful week!
Thank you so much for your concern. Things are better now, but we're still having thunderstorms. My family is safe and we have had no damage.

Thanks again!
Thankyou so much again, i look forward to passing them on :)
Wow that really is so nice of you! My sister isn't sure if its a boy or a girl, she thinks it was going to be a boy but the last time she spoke to him (the dad) was when his wife was going into labour. She heard from a mutual friend about the house being lost (so sad, he built it himself!) & hasn't been able to contact them yet, she's not really sure how to, or when is the right time coz they must be going thru so much right now! It really is lovely of you to wanna do something for the baby tho, so if you still want to, you could maybe do something neutral, or i could let you know if its a boy or a girl once my sister gets in contact with them. Thankyou again for being so thoughtful :)
Cool - found you! I don't hang out in the groups much these days, but I do like keeping up with other people's projects and such. I really like your diaper cover (and your little one is *adorable*).
Cool! I'll have to check out your projects on ravelry. Are you nitnat there too (I'm scaifea there too)?
Hi,
We share some reading interests in common; me here in California (hey, I am a librarian and writer) and you in Australia, a country my husband and I would love to visit.
I don't know why Elises and Elyses become Leesys (actually in my case it's because way back when, my little sister couldn't pronounce my full name, but given that she's an MD now and I'm in my 40s you'd think we would have moved on from that! But anyway, it's nice to hear about others with the nickname. I don't know how I became "Leesy Lou" to my mother though; my middle name starts with an M!
That's what I need, books that the boys can get into. I think most boys find reading a "girly" thing and can't get it in their heads that guys read too. When I get the books I will read them and try to lure the guys in. Wish me luck!
Thanks!! I'll take a look.
Nitnat,
Just heading into summer. *sigh* I am so not a winter person, but what can you do? Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the book. I think it is the coolest thing to have an author in the family.
The books sounds like it's something I'd enjoy too. So, I am gonna find it, read it, and make it a part of my classroom collection.
Thanks again!
Enjoy the sunshine! (but not too much)
MD
*waves* :)
Thanks for the heads up. I am going to a childrens' book conference next month. I'll look for it.
any other newer childrens' books on the market you can share with me I would appreciate it. Jewels
We get a holiday because Melbourne gets one, essentially. We have "Family and Community Day", which happens to coincide every year with Melbourne Cup Day. It didn't make any difference to me except that there were less buses and the little supermarket was closed. I still went to work and everyone was there anyway.
I wish i was in in Melbourne - then i'd get the day off!
Whee! Thanks, Nitnat!
I meant to contact you right away to say I was delighted to accept your kind invitation. I am flattered to be included on your list. I too own more little kids' and middle kids' books that would seem reasonable. But I love them. My excuse is my 2 grandchildren (4 and 2), but the truth is I want them for myself, and will share with the grandbabies if necessary. I buy them lots and lots of books too, so I don't feel too guilty.

How did the Launch go? I've been waiting to hear. Mary Lou
Thanks for the message - I'll follow your additons - there are sure to be some I have forgotten to add.
"A Fortunate Life" is about a bloke! Different story therefore!
If you have had to leave books behind as I have - it's a good excuse to buy more!

I have been reading for over 40 years, so of course, I have read quite a few in that time!

I read one Australian book this year about a woman who survived a horrible rape and had her throat cut - an amazing story of survival - I can't remember the title, it was something like A Fortunate Life. I gave the book away.

Keep adding books - then we mnay share some.

-TT
Thanks for that. Will add my own then!! or rather, that for hubby's book.
Hi there, Anyone can add an event, you don't have to be the host or anything. Just go to the page of the location and add the event, with as much or as little detail as you want. You can edit it also. If the location doesn't exist yet, you can enter that too (but make sure it isn't already there because duplicates are a pain).
Hope that answers your question
