O mnieI am a library/media specialist in the Northeast. I am an avid reader and can't wait to read my next book. The only problem I have is deciding which book in my "to read" pile will be next. As far as I am concerned there are never enough hours in a day to read. My perfect job would be reading and writing reviews... without a doubt.

My job is a teacher/library media specialist, but my passion is all about the kids and their learning to acquire a love of reading. I purchase children's books for K-5 and have been involved with young adult literature as well. I believe strongly that children who love to read will succeed, whether they read online or in a book.

O mojej biblioteceI am most drawn to reading historical fiction and history which I include biography. I also enjoy a lot of contemporary fiction.
However, I read nearly every Stephen King book written(yet usually hate horror books). I am not particularly interested in fantasy books, but have read many of the Terry Brooks "Shannara Series" and of course CS Lewis and Tolkein.

Therefore, I would say I am always looking for a great read. I have an open mind and read reviews often. PLEASE, recommend any books you think were your absolute favorites!!!!!

As a library media specialist, I read The New York Times Book Review. I always look at School Library Journal, Booklist, Amazon, Kirkus, Publishers Weekly and especially read my fellow Library Thingers reviews out there!!!!!

Please write and recommend your favorites.

I liked the book better than the movie. The book has so much more life than the movie, plus they left out the most important part in the movie that was in to book...Lol have to love when they make a book into a movie and leave out the best part!

I think you might like the stroy "the boy in the Stripped Pajamas" its about world war 2 its a quick read like maybe 100 and some odd pages!

You asked for recommendations. You and I have two of the same favorites on our lists The Glass Castle and A Thousand Splendid Suns.
Since you are an American history lover, I think you might the historical fiction, Mary by Janis Cook Newman. I loved it and it is one of my favorites.

Your bio asks for recommendations of favourites, so I'll give you one suggestion for now: Stone Junction by Jim Dodge. I thought it was brilliant. There are many elements of the fantastic to it, but equally it feels quite grounded. Great fun.

Absolutely....I'm reviewing it for a magazine and will be posting it on my blog. The book is excellent and chronicles his life prior to the trials and on through his repentance.

Hi-saw you're looking for recommendations. I mention The Condition by Jennifer Haigh to anyone interested in excellent writing - also loved Crossing to Safety by Stegner. You are absolutely right-too few hours in the day and too many books. So nice to be among fellow book lovers: a lovely oasis. I am so glad that you are bringing a love of reading to children. It always seems odd that there are people who don't love to read. There is a sign on a school marquee here that says "Remember to read during the summer." I always think that is like saying "Remember to breathe."
