See you have Hold on to Your Kids. This is an impodaughter and rtant book and I am impressed how my daughter and son in law are instinctively following these ideas hard as it is to compete with peers.
Noticed you liked The Bluest Eye, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Hello,
Thanks for your invitation, which I am happy to accept. Was it that I'm also a huge Agatha Christie fan, as you seem to be, or that we have 64 books in common?
Just happened to notice that you have read Sixty Million Frenchmen Can't Be Wrong and as well have reviewed it. Such a surprise since I never thought anyone would have been interested in the topic.

I am fascinated with the topic and found the book very helpful in answering some of my questions.

What I do not understand is why America has so many problems with France and the French. After all, it was General Gilbert du Motier, marquis de Lafayette who saved the Americans in the American revolution with the battle of Yorktown and his naval power. And the money from the French that Ben Franklin got that allowed the Colonists to continue the war. So I would have thought that the Americans would be more grateful and sympathetic with a nation that was so crucial in their history.

If you ever find an answer to that question do let me know. I am totally baffled by it.

In the meantime,

enjoy,

Ur.

Three cheers for: J'essaie de ne pas me limiter mais ma passion réside surtout dans la littérature de la fin du XIXe !!!

Thank you very much for your very kind words.

They mean a lot to me and I shall try to continue to be worthy of them.

Hi, cecilturtle. I am launching a book club at work for anglophones who want to practice their second language skills by reading and discussing books in french. I thought you might be able to make some suggestions for books we could read. They would have to be not too difficult grammatically and available in paperback in Ottawa stores or at the public library.

How was le bizarre incident du chien pendant la nuit? I really loved that book in english! Most people around here like stories by/about aboriginal people, if you know of any.

If you wouldn't mind making some suggestions, I'd be most grateful.

Thanx.
Hé oui, je suis bel et bien une compatriote! Je vais de ce pas regarder pour le groupe Québécois, je n'avais même pas penser de regarder s'il y en avait une!
Bonne journée et joyeuses fêtes a toi! :-)
I'm about 1/3 through it, and it's not as good.
I got it at Chapters in Kanata, but I think it was the last one. I was looking on the Chapters website, and it said there are 9 copies at Chapters on Rideau Street.
I don't know your brother-in-law, but will ask my husband if he does. If your brother-in-law likes to read, he may want to join the Rideau Club's Book Club, which meets for dinner on the first Monday of the month and for lunch on the following Tuesday. For October, we will be reading "Will in the World: How Shakespeare became Shakespeare" by Stephen Greenblat.
Just wondering how you managed to read Wordplay in Boris Vian (not its original title),which I thought was only available on microfilm...
Thanks, by the way, for the kind review.
Jeffrey Moore
Merci pour la revue du Vieux ...
Je commence juste, je ne sais pas combien j'ai de livres !
Cordialement,
Thanks for your reviews..I'm just getting started uploading my liabrary but since I never kept track of anything, I assume it is going to be quite lengthy..I've actually made note of several books in your own library to get some material for the next few weeks. Keep up the good work. If you happen to have some "coup de coeur", please feel free to share them.
