O mnieFormer Editor and Writer. If I don't have a TBR pile by my bed, I can't sleep! I am the mom of three kids and often read to them at night, so some notable Children's selections will be on my list. Here is a quiz you can take to see what kind of a reader you are:
http://www.gotoquiz.com/what_kind_of_rea...
(I am an Obessive-Compulsive Bookworm.)
Also, I am a Cool Nerd Queen (and I took a test to prove it) LOL!
My original goal for the year was 100, but life interfered in August and September, so I've downgraded my goal to 85. Reading has always been my escape, so I don't want to lose my joy to pressure!
I have enjoyed logging my books in (not complete yet), making new friends and getting WAY too many book recommendations. I think LBT rocks!
O mojej biblioteceMy library is composed of books I have read. I have just started to make a wish list for books that I want to read. I don't differentiate between those I've borrowed or those I own, largely because most of my books are in boxes awaiting shelf space and I can't remember which ones they are! Sigh.
"Every book should begin with attractive endpapers," he had once told Meggie. "Preferably in a dark color: dark red or dark blue, depending on the binding. When you open the book it's like going to the theater. First you see the curtain. Then it's pulled aside and the show begins." Silvertongue/Mo from [Inkheart]

My husband ended up getting an infection in his eye after the cataract surgery. Supposedly, that is very unusual. Anyway, it looks like it's almost cleared up and he's scheduled for the right eye surgery early in November. Keep your fingers crossed that there are no complications with that so we'll be able to go on our scheduled Rhine River Cruise at Thanksgiving time. If it doesn't heal properly we just won't go on vacation. His eyesight, of course, is much more important! Anyway, at our age we always buy travel insurance.
I just finished reading The Lost Mother by Mary McGarry Morris. It was an excellent book - - so good I got up twice during the night to read more. That's several of her books now that I've enjoyed, so I've added her name to my list of favorite authors.
Bye for now!

chances that you'll learn how to be brave.
- Nikita Koloff
Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your
vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is
the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.
- James Allen, As A Man Thinketh
Have the courage to follow your dreams. It's the first step towards
attaining your destiny.

Jean Wilson
No more meekly saying 'yes'
When my heart is screaming 'no'
No more taming of my feelings
So my power won’t show
No more hiding my exuberance
From disapproving eyes
No more watering down myself
So my spirit won't rise
No more 'smalling up' of me
Pretending I am not here
No more running from the music
And the spotlight's glare
No more living in this prison
Barricaded by my fears
No more turning and retreating
In the face of new frontiers
Even as I am speaking
I am taking shape and form
Harnessing my powers
Like a gathering storm
There's no obstacle so bold
As to dare stand in my way
I am taking back my life
And I am doing it today.
